Collaborated in a 36-hour data competition to analyze customer call behavior in an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system and identify factors influencing unresolved support calls
Conducted exploratory data analysis on 10+ call attributes and identified that the top 5 call reasons accounted for the majority of IVR traffic, revealing key opportunities for automation improvements
Built a logistic regression classification model to predict whether a call would be resolved by the IVR or escalated to a human agent
Addressed class imbalance using k-means clustering and stratified sampling (n=1000), improving minority-class prediction performance and increasing F1 score by ~30%
Discovered that MOS sequences longer than 3 steps significantly increased unresolved call probability, informing recommendations to simplify IVR pathways
Delivered data-driven recommendations to reduce agent call transfers by prioritizing optimization for high-escalation call reasons (CT, WA, DP, FM, FD, iR)
